Furman University cancelled the baseball program in 2020. The University cited budget cuts, but continues to maintain the field for travel ball teams. The cost of hiring baseball staff and creating scholarships is insignificant for a private institution like Furman. Furman baseball strengthened the campus community and positively impacted the Greenville community, so why not bring back baseball?
