3 years ago yesterday, Furman cancelled the baseball program. This decision shocked both fans and students, even catching the coaches by surprise. The University claimed COVID-19 was the cause, but with the crisis over, why hasn't anything changed? It seems to me that as Furman flourishes, its athletics department should as well; basketball certainly impressed us all with their win against Virginia, which proved that Furman has the means and talent to compete athletically with some of the largest schools in the country. It's a shame that we don't have the opportunity to watch our baseball team succeed like other sports. I believe the University did not realize how impactful their decision would be. But there is still time to change their minds.
